In times of calamity, we are one family. This was In times of calamity, we are one family. This was proven by a kindhearted Japanese woman named Akiko who has helped thousands of our medical frontliners during this pandemic. Through a fundraiser she mounted on social media, Akiko posted videos chronicling her efforts in preparing meals during the early weeks of the ECQ. It gained the attention of her fellow Japanese, and she was able to raise 3 Million Yen for the benefit of Filipino frontliners! Akiko's love for the Philippines started when she relocated here from Japan in 2017. She started @tomochanph which now has 20 branches in Metro Manila. However, the operations of her stores went to a halt due to the pandemic. Upon seeing that there are people in need of nourishment, Akiko decided to open her kitchen to prepare meals for our Pinoy frontliners instead. Through Tomochan Ramen Express alone, more than 9,000 meals were provided and distributed through Frontline Feeders Philippines for our brave local medical teams battling COVID-19. Akiko is happy to fulfill two objectives she had in mind from the start — to support medical frontliners, and to help her team realize what they can do through teamwork at a time of crisis like this. She is proof that with compassion, a pure heart, and a sense of community, even a foreigner like her can contribute greatly to society. Domo arigatou gozaimasu, Akiko-sama and Tomochan!

Meet one of our awesome kitchen partners, Victor and his team at @kraverscanteen . Victor was about to launch Kraver's Canteen officially but as we all know, life happened. With the lockdown still in place, Victor was not able to operate in full because his commercial kitchen is still in the works, but that didn't stop him. Instead, he dedicated his time to feed our frontliners by preparing yummy meals from his home kitchen. Started by Victor, what was supposed to be a cloud kitchen business became a Frontline Feeders Philippines volunteer kitchen. He gives us hope that we can still turn an unexpected setback to a window of opportunity to help one another. Thank you for your dedication and hard work! In your little ways, you can also help! Nothing bands people together like good food but i Nothing bands people together like good food but in this trying time, bringing good food to our frontliners have brought together people with passion for helping. This includes one of the most caring and talented chef we know. @chefwaya of @gourmetgypsy has been with us since the beginning of this crisis. Every meal she prepared is filled with love and everyone can attest to that. Her service to our frontliners goes above and beyond. She opened her kitchen not just to cook delicious and healthy meals, but also as a hub for raw ingredients distribution for our kitchen partners. In the hustle and bustle of this pandemic, Chef Waya and her team powered through to prepare thousands of meals in one day, to immediately send help to those at the frontlines. Despite ECQ struggles, she made sure to deliver only the best. Truly, our team considers her as a modern day hero. No words can explain our appreciation for her dedication. We are incredibly thankful to Chef Waya and her ENTIRE TEAM for opening the doors of Gourmet Gypsy Cafe and helping in our efforts to feed our frontliners. As Chef Waya puts it, "Healthy food is PPE, too." Thank you for protecting our frontliners! We are honored to have you with us. We love you, Chef Waya! Your Frontline Feeders PH fam got your back!
While most of us are at home, there are few who go While most of us are at home, there are few who go out in the streets and dedicate their time in helping those who are in need. Today, we want to put the spotlight to one of our volunteers, Kuya Owen. He doesn’t need to do it but he does wholeheartedly. Being a father of 5, it’s natural for Kuya Owen to be caring. He extends his fatherly love by driving around the metro, picking up meals from our partner kitchens and then delivering them to hospitals. In a way, he’s one of Frontline Feeders Philippines’ frontliners. He is alert, resourceful in his driving routes, and also very good in documenting our deliveries and the grateful smiles of the health workers who receive them. We are thankful that we can count on Kuya Owen and all the other drivers to help us support and care for our frontliners 😊 Salute to all workers this Labor Day! She started @let.eatbee simply because of her love for cooking hearty, homemade dishes. When COVID broke out, she decided to dedicate their services by pouring her heart to prepare delicious meals for our frontliners. Aside from feeding our health workers in hospitals, Let Eat Bee also gives food packs to other frontliners like police who man check points, construction workers, and trash collectors.
